amont is one of the funkiest bass players you will ever hear, not to mention a class act. He was raised in a very musical family and started playing bass at age 12. His father was a well-known drummer in the Reading, PA area, playing often with jazz legend, Frankie Scott, and various popular big bands that would come to town.
Besides his father, some other huge influences in Lamont's playing include Marcus Miller, Stanley Clarke, Gerald Veasley, and Tom Jenkins. He has studied with "bass heavyweights" Bennie Simms and Dominique Fiory.
Lamont has played with several popular bands in the past including Midnight Breeze, Bunchafunk, Two Snaps Up, Big Ric and Vegas, and Synergy. He continues to attend Gerald Veasley's "Bass Boot Camp" yearly as part of the Berks Jazz Fest. He always strives for constant improvement, and enjoys the heavy amount of rehearsing that the band requires for its shows.
