Omer Godinet (Drums, Vocals)

mer was born in Honolulu, Hawaii. It was here that he was raised by his family and went to school on the island, graduating from Kahuku High School in 1978. After high school, he decided to move to the States, and graduated from Salt Lake City's Brigham Young University (BYU). With a degree in hand, he then moved to New York City for two months, and as they say, the rest is history as he started his professional career as a drummer.

Omer has traveled throughout the country sharing the stage with famous acts such as The Four Tops, The Temptations, The Mama's and the Papa's, Marie Osmond, Toby Keith, Aaron Tippin, and Kenny Chesney. He has also recorded tracks for Shania Twain, Michael Jackson, and Whitney Houston as a drummer for BMG.

Over the years, Omer has played in many regional groups as well including Bunchafunk, the Dave Stahl Sacred Orchestra/Jazz Big Band, the Bobby Mercer Road Show, and many more. He has the ability to play any kind of music, whether it be Jazz to Rock, Country to Funk, or Swing to Rap. His exciting drum solos excite every crowd, night in and night out.

Besides playing with The Uptown Band, Omer also has stayed close to his roots. Each summer he is the house drummer at "Harrah's Island Luau" Hawaiian Show in Atlantic City.
